This is one of three films that were created as part of an ESRC funded project (https://domestichomicide-halt.co.uk) that aims to address important gaps in existing knowledge of domestic homicide and to influence policy and practice to prevent domestic homicide nationally and potentially internationally.
This film is 13 minutes long and was filmed online during the lockdown pandemic of 2021. It tells the stories of the homicides on the day it occurred and powerfully conveys its impact. It is edited by weaving 2/3 different stories in and out of each other.
This film does contain a trigger warning. The content includes detailed acts of coercion and violence that escalates to death. This includes strangulation, multiple stabbings, and shooting. If you find the content upsetting you can find support from the following support lines: Refuge Domestic Abuse Helpline 0808 2000 247 open 24/7 or Samaritans on 116123 open 24/7.
