From Elaine Craig
This is one of three films that were created as part of an ESRC funded project (https://domestichomicide-halt.co.uk) that aims to address important gaps in existing knowledge of domestic homicide and to influence policy and practice to prevent domestic homicide nationally and potentially internationally.
This film is 21 minutes long and was filmed online during the lockdown pandemic of 2021. It includes seven family members reflecting back on the key moments from their Domestic Homicide Review experience. This film is edited into 5 chapters: 1.) Missed opportunities, 2.) The children's voice, 3.) The DHR experience, 4.) Support through the process, 5.) The one thing I would change.
This film does contain a trigger warning. The content includes detailed acts of coercion and violence that escalate to death. If you find the content upsetting you can find support from the following support lines: Refuge Domestic Abuse Helpline 0808 2000 247 open 24/7 or Samaritans on 116123 open 24/7.
