The second annual Festival of Research officially launched, marking the beginning of a two-week celebration of art, science and innovation.
The Festival was opened by Professor Nick Brook, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Research, who introduced the programme and emphasised our commitment to advancing knowledge through collaboration.
Attendees were treated to a poignant performance by the Combination Dance Company, a London-based group whose work draws on human movement research. The performance artistically portrayed the physical effects of Motor Neuron Disease (MND), offering a powerful blend of creative expression and scientific insight. This moving presentation not only raised awareness about MND but also highlighted the essential role of research in improving lives.
