Have you ever been told that you need to synthesise ideas from different sources in your writing? This workshop is designed for students who want to develop their skills of synthesis, starting at the reading stage. It will focus on how to use a ‘synthesising grid’ to organise notes from sources and identify links between them. You will have the chance to use this grid to produce your own paragraph of synthesised text. By the end of the workshop, you will be better equipped to organise your notes according to different themes, and you will be more confident in writing paragraphs that incorporate ideas from multiple sources.
